Why Magnetic Shoulders Increase Muscular Strength And Give You Less Tension

From martial arts to kettlebell training, from playing the piano to sitting at your computer all day long, from cranking out maximum pull-ups to delivering a powerful baseball swing - keeping your shoulders down is essential for maximum strength and for proper flowing of your energies – physically, physiologically, and creatively speaking.

Any rise of the shoulders creates tension that disallows the full force of your core’s thrust of power to emit from your arms, hands, and even torso. It affects the rotation of your shoulders and hinders the mobility and elasticity of your spinal movement.

Tension in your shoulders even keeps your fingers from moving dexterously and with maximum contraction power. It creates physical fatigue that can drain our mental resources and create undue stress.

The problem is that even when we remind ourselves to put our shoulders down, they creep up on us as if they had a mind of their own. So, just a like a rebellious teenager, they do exactly what was asked of them not to do the moment we turn our attention away.

So many people have tension-filled shoulders that they hardly give it a thought throughout their days anymore. But, it’s that very tension those shoulders create that drains us physically and mentally far more than we can imagine.

When you sit at your computer or desk many hours a day, proper alignment from the shoulders all the way down to the fingertips is very important to master. Even the slightest adjustment of an eighth of an inch can make all the difference.

Most of us are conscious of our tension Only when we stop to think about it. The problem is, that we get so busy doing what we do; we forget to remind our shoulders to go back down where they’re supposed to be. And, once again, the shoulders with seeming minds of their own are back up whispering into our ears creating more tension and a shorter neck.

The solution to relieving tension is two fold. You need to get the shoulders down without creating a different kind of tension by actually trying to keep them down with muscles. Contracting the shoulders either upwards or downwards is not good either way.

Secondly, you generally need to schedule conscious reminders regularly throughout the day because the slightest anxiety, irritation, wrong seating position, etc. will have you looking instantly like your neck is disappearing. It happens in an instant.

The shoulders seem to love playing their debilitating game no matter what we do it seems whether it’s work or play. That’s why I often set a countdown timer for short intervals so that when goes off, I can quickly run through a mental checklist of physical things that are both helping me or hindering maximal success and then take a deep breath, make the corrections, and continue onward. You’ll be amazed how this will improve your work, strength, and play if you try this.

Here’s an experiment. Tense your shoulders upwards and Feel the tension. Now try to relax quickly. You’ll still feel the residue of tension, right?

Now squeeze them up again, but this time instead of using muscles to pull them down, think of a powerful electro magnet being turned from the floor. Feel that magnet pulling your shoulders down without the aid of any muscles.

In addition, feel the powerful invisible pul of the magnet now attaching itself to all the tips of your fingers. Then your palms; then your elbows. Feel the electro magnet pulling on all of them outward and far away from your shoulders.

If you can really imagine that powerful electro magnet, the release of tension from your shoulders is worlds apart from trying to do it just physically. You may even feel a tingling sensation in your hands. What’s really cool is that you have far greater mobility just by using the power of the imagination to think and move differently.

Proper seating position for long hours at your desk is something that is in my Dynamic Finger Exercises course and I go over in detail as well as how to loosen your shoulders and flow energy out through your fingertips. Without question, it’ll also show you how to develop dexterous fingers of steel.

Thinking differently = Different results.
