How Gravity Saps Our Strength and Mental EdgeA lot of people let gravity get us down in more ways than one. It can sap your physical strength to your mental edge. All day long, from the moment we get out of bed. Unfortunately, many aren’t aware of how drastically it can change not only our body movements throughout the day but also our mental outlook. We might get up and are really excited and can’t wait to get into the typing of our new book, our painting, our workout, etc. – whatever it might be. We’re really excited. But, as you do those things day after day, hour after hour, all of a sudden we often start making less gains, we feel more tired, and move with less speed. Of course, when things are fresh we start out with an elongated body with our limbs extended infused with lots of energy and enthusiasm, our shoulders pulled back, our neck tall and straight, etc. – enthusiasm abounds. Then, after time, without us really being aware, gravity starts working on us and our posture starts to become slack, our arms come in closer to our body, our shoulders slouching, our breathing becomes shallower because our posture begins deteriorating - we have less mental and physcial energy because of less oxygen generation to the brain and muscles. Many who sit their desks many hours a day end up with hands that look like the upper limbs of Tyrannosaurus Rex – short and gnarly. The downward cycle has started. No wonder why we return home from a long day’s work and are tired and sometimes downright exhausted. A lot of times, it’s not just because of hard work, it’s because you simply needed reminders throughout the day to correct your posture, adjust your physical and mental energy levels, remind yourself of your trajectory of movement, and direction of intent for the tasks at hand. Bad posture with no “energy breaks” to reset the body quite often ends with bad thinking because, simply put, our body’s are a feedback mechanism for our brain. If we’re all hunched over and breathing shallow for any period of time, we don’t feel much energy – it’s not coming through the fingertips – it’s not even coming into the lungs. The brain starts to feel a little dead. Even if we try to charge ourselves up with enthusiasm and power, it doesn’t work because the body isn’t congruent with the energy. So, it’s a feedback mechanism and your body is telling your brain, “Well, maybe you’re just not feeling energetic today – You’re not really moving efficiently.” By why would you be? Gravity has already had you doing things unconsciously with your body functions and structure that have highly sabotaged your ability to flow with energy with the enthusiasm that your work really warrants. The body is operating far less than optimal by a long shot quite often because you’ve gone too long without a break. But, the right kind of break. So often, when you get home and it’s time to go to the gym, it seems like such a big effort to get yourself going at the levels you need to really generate superhuman power and the things you really want to be able to do. As many of you know, I sat at a piano rehearsing some of the most difficult piano pieces every written every day from 8-13 hours to win 13 international gold medals. And after that many hours, I still kept up my martial arts five days a week along with weight lifting and bodyweight exercises 4 days – and also taught many students in the same week. Not only did it have to be high intensity every day because my goal was to win 13 gold medals, but in order to do it, I had to come up with a Lot of strategies to get my energy and body congruent to win Gold. Taking breaks every 30 minutes is a must still to this day. But, that’s only starters. During those breaks, I would practice the breathing techniques, the energy driving and mental focus techniques that I teach in CoreForce Energy http://www.coreforceenergy.com along with loosening up the limbs, hips, and working on the releasing the tension in the shoulders that for many years burned white hot with pain and tension until I discovered answers to end it once and for all. Take your breaks and instead of going for a coffee - try to breathe and feel power coming out your hands. For when you’re tense, your hands become very weak and everything gets pulled back into shoulder tension – and the endless cycle continues. Check out my Dynamic Finger Exercises as many of these precise techniques of flowing energy through the hands, making them more powerful, along with relaxing the shoulders, will be revealed and that are just smaller components of CoreForce Energy - the superhuman strength accelerator for peak performance training.
