Electric Hands

In my many years to try to generate maximum body energy and power to utilize in martial arts or for the inspiration to play the piano on world-class stages throughout the world, or to create sculptures or paintings, I’ve found that generating energy from the hands is one of the paramount ingredients that create not only a flow of body energy but a flow of inspiration as well and it allows for the mind to be “in the moment” without the force of will.

If you can learn to create power from the hands inspiration will follow and flow. If you can generate electrical charges that you could swear emits from your hands, almost like by magic as if you were a wizard, you can do amazing things you never thought possible.

One of the things I do before each performance is try to engage my mind to flow this magical electrical surge through my hands. Before each martial arts sparring match, I do the same. Or, each time before I put a paintbrush to the canvas.

Without it, I feel almost lost. With it, it seems to guide my hands, my thoughts, my creativity, and energies to make the right choices, the right moves. Isn't that what "in the flow" is supposed to be about? Since boyhood, I always heard people talk about being in the "flow'. But, it wasn’t until I really learned how to flow my energy through my hands from the toes all the way up through my spine and out through the fingertips with breath and imagination, that I really understood the amazing power of "going with the flow".

Getting into the "flow" always seemed to be an act of will and to go down stream you don't need to be struggling to row with oars.

Now, I know that if I can generate the right electricity before whatever I do, the right amount of energy to flow through the hands, that the inspiration will come, incredible power will come. When done right, it seems almost like a guidance system for fantastic things to follow.

That's why before a performance, I take special care to make certain my electrical generators are all on full capacity. I believe an audience always sees it and feels it.

There are many ways to get to the same destination but the fact is that we all have this ability; we first just have to know why it's important to do. Next, is to begin using your imagination to see the specific energy you want to emit from your hands and to feel it with your being until your fingertips actually have a tingling sensation.

You don't have to have mystical powers in the very least. Think of yourself as an electrical engineer mapping out how all the circuits and electricity flow and then focus all the energy to go out through the fingertips. Breath, feel the power of your breath, and then allow that life breath to flow from every pore in your hands and fingertips.

Use your imagination to zap some stars while you’re at it.
